LSPS Boat Parade and Lock Through Rendezvous

Meeting at Tumbleweed on the River at 9AM Start for locks at 9:30, Largest boat gets to carry the LSPS Banner for the parade After the lock through we will cruise on the lower river, then drop anchor and raft up for a picnic lunch. We will lock back up river at approximately 2PM.

Each boat will be responsible for providing their own lunch and beverages as a group. We need participant information as soon as possible. Contact Kyle Fisher at 812-284-0634 no later than Sunday, September 7th with your participation details:

  • You want to lock through, have done it before, and will take passengers (or not)
  • You want to lock through, are a newbie and would like an experienced mate on board
  • You don’t have a boat, but want to join us just for fun or lock through training
  • How you want to be contacted with your boat assignment (e-mail or telephone)
Kyle will advise boat assignments by September 9 via preferred method

Items to bring

  • Boat hook (to hold the boat off the lock wall)
  • Large boat fenders – hint: bring trash bags to place over the fenders during use in the lock
  • 3/8 inch dock line 1.5 times the length of the boat to secure to the lock wall
  • VHF radio or cell phone
  • All crew and passengers - WEARING A PFD IS REQUIRED WHILE IN THE LOCKS
  • Picnic Lunch / Beverages – each boat is responsible for their own food & drink
  • Bathing suits (no swimming in the locks)
  • Camera – you will get the best shots of downtown Louisville on this trip!!
